Thomas Title & Escrow was founded in 2006. At the turn of the century, the commercial title and escrow industry was dominated by a handful of large companies. Our founder, who was a banking and real estate attorney at the time, had experienced first-hand the deficiencies and poor quality of service from these companies.
After years of working with these businesses, we realized that their product had little variance—leaving an untapped level of service that would ultimately disrupt the industry. We were inspired to create Thomas Title & Escrow—a title and escrow agency that is underwritten by the largest industry insurers, yet still runs like a specialized boutique that provides the highest level of service. Starting out with a singular focus on the commercial sector, the firm was poised to efficiently handle the complexities that often arise with larger, more sophisticated transactions.
Thriving through crash & crisis
While many firms closed during the real estate crash of 2008, our firm’s creativity and agility meant we not only survived—we thrived. Thomas Title & Escrow became the go-to firm for attorneys, bankers and investors in commercial foreclosure and distress situations across the Southwest U.S. By 2011, Thomas Title & Escrow was named one of the fastest growing companies in the Inc. 500/5000 list and in 2012, the firm opened an office in Dallas, Texas.
After the pandemic of 2020, we looked to continue our growth nationally. In June 2021, we became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corporation (NYSE:STC), which is the parent company of Stewart Title Company. Stewart was founded in 1893 and is one of the largest title insurance companies in the world.

Today, Thomas Title & Escrow continues to deliver sophisticated title and escrow solutions. As part of Stewart Title National Commercial Services (NCS), we combine local expertise with a national commercial services infrastructure built to support complex, multisite, and multistate transactions with consistency, responsiveness, and tailored solutions.
